HKU holds the Equal Opportunities Festival 2010

| The University of Hong Kong (HKU) held the Opening Ceremony of the Equal Opportunities Festival 2010 today (March 9).
Mr. Lam Woon-kwong, Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission, and HKU Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President Prof. Joseph Lee, officiated at the event. At the ceremony, awards were presented to winners of "making HKU an inclusive environment" proposal competition. Renowned stand-up comedian Mr Vivek Mahbubani made a speech on "the meaning of cultural diversity in a university context". The Equal Opportunities Festival 2010 will be held from March 9 to March 31 under the theme of cultural diversity.
