Professor Lung Ying-tai will give a lecture on the launch of her new book "Big River, Big Sea--Untold Stories of 1949" at the University of Hong Kong on September 18 (Friday).
The book has been planned by Professor Lung for ten years. Against a background of Kuomintang's defeat in the Chinese civil war and fleeing to Taiwan in 1949, Professor Lung traveled extensively, interviewed numerous people to capture the untold stories of a generation of the Chinese people.
The event is co-organised by Robert Black College of the University of Hong Kong and the Cosmos Books Company Limited.
