Students taking Performance Study must enrol in two of the following component-courses, which falls into two categories: ensemble category (HKU Chamber Singers, HKU Gamelan, HKU Percussion Ensemble) and workshop category (Conducting Workshop, Chamber Music Workshop, Instrument Workshop). Students may elect to freely enrol either in two Ensembles, two workshops, or a combination of the two. Refer to the Performance Course Selection page for any enrolment prerequisites in specific component-courses.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- demonstrate mastery of appropriate performance skills;
- demonstrate the ability to perform publicly at concerts, recitals, or workshops organized by the Music Department;
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the styles, characteristics, and performance practices of the music studied.
