Jointly operated by the Environmental Protection Department and the University, the Centre was opened in 2008. Some special species recorded include the Band-bellied Crake and the Dollar Bird which are rare migrants in Hong Kong.

The Centre is open free to the public and it offers a not-to-be missed opportunity for visitors to learn about Hong Kong's natural environment in a verdant setting.
