Meeting
Great Minds

There
are a number of key skills and personal qualities
expected of new graduates. With these, students
excel in their career and life. We have organized
a series of seminars for students to learn from
visionary and prominent leaders on how to enhance
one's competitiveness in the job market and
more importantly how to become a leader in their
own
profession. The personal sharing of community
leaders will stimulate students' thinking and
help them form a vision of their life and career
goals.

Soft
Skills for Work and Beyond

In
a recent survey on opinions of employers on major
aspects of performance of first degree graduates,
it was found that the overall performance of
graduates was quite satisfactory, implying that
they were able to perform better than the required
standard of employers. According to the results,
graduates received the highest score in Information
Technology Literacy and the lowest score in Management
Skills. As such, a series of soft skills workshops
have been organised with the objective to better
prepare you for the workplace. These skills are
as useful in your life as a student as it is
in the workplace. The sooner you attend these
workshops, the more time you will have to practise
them.

3: Working for SMEs
Small
and medium enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone
of Hong Kong's economy, and the driving force
of our economic development. They play an important
role in the process of economic restructuring.
SMEs comprise over 98% of business establishments
in Hong Kong and employ about 60% of the working
population in the private sector. Indeed, the
majority of our graduates are employed by SMEs.
Attend this seminar to learn how to be 'mentally'
prepared for the challenge, how to acquire the
skills that you need and how to transfer the
experience in a small firm to a large organisation.
