Spinal Cord Injury - SCI

Most SCI occur as a result of traumatic injuries such as traffic accidents or sporting injuries. Other causes include tumours or inflammatory or degenerative diseases.

Spinal cord injury can lead to physical difficulties of different levels, loss of motion and sensation.

About 400 SCI patients in Hong Kong are treated every year.

"Nothing is impossible". This was the philosophy of Christopher Reeve (1952-2004), one of the world's most recognisable and tireless advocates of SCI research and treatment.
