Hong Kong is a modern city where Chinese and Western modes of thought and behaviour interact. The history syllabus tries to reflect this intermingling of occidental and oriental influences, and students may take courses in both Eastern and Western history. Naturally, several courses focus upon the history of Hong Kong and the surrounding region, while other courses take a more comparative or theoretical approach.
