Shanghai Fudan New-Tech. Development Co., Ltd., established in October 1994, is a joint venture invested by Shanghai Light Industrial International (Group) Corp., Ltd. and Fudan University, with a registration capital of four million RMB. Professor Yifei Xiang was appointed as General Manager. It is a liability-limited integration of "Technology, Industry & Trade" oriented to bring the superiority of both shareholders into full play and to develop the economy, technology & foreign trade of Shanghai. Its business line covers scientific research, technology development & transfer, technique consultation, manufacturing, domestic & foreign trade.

Fudan University is a key comprehensive university of the Nation, enjoying great prestige both at home and abroad. It has established a complete system of courses and specialities, together with its great research and teaching strength. In recent years, focusing on its teaching & research, it has been sticking to training special personnel of high quality. It has set up several commercial manufacturing sources in Wenzhou, Zhongshan, Shanghai and etc., which has fully reflected its technology achievements. In 1997, it cooperated with Guangdong Apollo Group Co., Ltd., manufacturing a new type of dietary supplement named pyruvate, pyruvic acid & its esters, and some other organic intermediates as well. Presently it is arranging another high technological industry bringing forth the manufacturing technology of mercury-free alkaline zinc-manganese cell.
