Friends of HKU Bulletin - Winter 2023
Dr. Lawrence Ng, President, Friends of HKU

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

To ride on this season of gratitude, I would like to thank each one of you for your support of Friends of HKU. A special welcome to alumna Ms Lilian Lian who is our new board member. Lilian has a BBA (Acc&Fin) from HKU and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is now Vice President at Tritium Partners. As the founder of the HKU Young Professional Alumni in North America Association, Friends of HKU has every confidence in Lilian to drive deeper engagement with our young alumni.

I have been in Hong Kong lately and my time has packed with treasured memories at HKU. Apart from attending the 111th Anniversary Dinner of St John’s College, I have joined the HKU Mentorship Inauguration on November 21. These events exemplify the power of both old and new, the eternal vibrancy of HKU. I also have the pleasure to meet with Professor Lap-Chee Tsui, Vice Chancellor of HKU (2002-2014), now Chairman of the HKU Foundation which will celebrate its 30th Anniversary soon. Please join me to stay tuned for the exciting happenings ahead of the University.
