Updates on Accommodation Arrangement
Dear Students,
Earlier on we wrote to you about the move-in situation at Residential Colleges on Lung Wah Street. Over the last two days, we have been monitoring the indoor air quality (IAQ) very closely.
I’m glad to report that the formaldehyde readings of the 16 indoor air samples received on September 6 (Thursday) in Blocks A and B are all below 100ug/m3, meeting the ‘Good Class’ standard set by the Environmental Protection Department of the Hong Kong Government. The University will continue to monitor the indoor formaldehyde level and maintain maximum air ventilation in all the rooms of the Residential Colleges.
As we continue with the monitoring exercise, for prudence sake, students coming on September 7 (Friday) and 8 (Saturday) will be accommodated in hotels temporarily.
On condition that the indoor air quality has continuously met the ‘Good Class’ standard of the Hong Kong Government by September 8 (Saturday), there is a possibility that we will accommodate students arriving on September 9 (Sunday) and thereafter directly in the Residential Colleges so that you don’t have to move twice in a short space of time. We will keep you updated as new information is available.
Please report to the Residential Colleges on Lung Wah Street upon your arrival in Hong Kong. We have made transportation arrangements for you to go from the Residential Colleges to the hotel.
We appreciate your understanding and patience for the inconvenience caused to you. If you have any question, please call our hotline (852)-51360405. You may also send your inquiry to lwsrc@cedars.hku.hk
Thank you very much and I look forward to meeting you in person.
