Fixed-route bus service between Central and the University (For staff only)

02 Sep 2012 - 21 Sep 2012

Message from The University of Hong Kong Staff Association

Dear colleagues,

The new 334 academic year, beginning on 17 September, will see the number of HKU students and staff increase by the thousands. This will put much extra pressure on the already overburdened public transport services, and it is likely that commuting to work in the morning rush hour and going home after work in the evening will give many of us some nightmare experiences.

Since early this year, our Association has been liaising with the University management, the Transport Department, the Central and Western District Council, bus companies and GMB operators over feasible steps to forestall the anticipated traffic problems. Alleviation measures planned include strengthening the service of some bus and GMB routes in the rush hours, bus routes No. 23, 970, 970X and 43X in particular.

To help facilitate HKU staff going to work, our Association is providing a fixed-route bus service between Central and the University, called “HKU One-Stop Service”, beginning on 17 September 2012. Please click here for details.
